Whether a regular reader or not, this post will give you some insights on blogging, business and getting back to being yourself. I’m shifting things here at JMIB. Read on to hear about why and what is coming – it’s worth it.

Initially created to explore writing, entrepreneurship and help people, I’m afraid this site has become my emotions translated into a blog.

1. Always keep your audience’s pleasure in mind.

2. Learn everything you can about it.

3. Do it often.

4. Try new things to stay exciting and unexpected.

5. Look good while doing it.

6. If you’re good people will come back for more.

7. If you’re the best people will never forget you.

8. Be selective who you do it with.

9. Give, don’t just receive.

10. With time, you can always improve.

11. Be receptive to feedback.

12. Accept that regardless of performance, some people will not like you.

I was sifting through the archives and after re-reading a few old posts it is apparent I have some good things to say.

Feel free to let me know if there’s any I missed or that you’d like to see written about again. Although, it’s unlikely considering a blog needs about twenty billion subscribers to even get a few dozen comments.

I stopped blogging a few months back for various reasons. Mostly, one day I woke up and just didn’t feel like writing. Then I felt the same way everyday for like a month. Then a season changed and then it was Winter. I was ignoring it. I didn’t check  my email for months, I didn’t check my stats.  I would occasionally land on the homepage to check to see if it still existed.

(Clearly indicating I cared ever so slightly about it.)

I recently received my stimulus check.

I originally intended to save the entire $600 bucks for my first vacation in seven years.

But I’ve given it some thought, and since I don’t really NEED the money (as in the real definition of neediness), I’ve decided to use a portion of it to help stimulate someone else.

I am going to donate $100 of my check to Kiva.org and I hope I can get other people to do the same.

My feed is now working. So go subscribe before it’s too cool and you feel like a poser b/c you’re getting on the bandwagon late in the game.

Btw, until I find a programmer who likes being paid in cookies and smiles please bear with me as I learn this blogging stuff. Who knows what interesting issues lie ahead so I appreciate your patience and understanding.
